Mukilteo, WA, June18, 2012 – Lea Tesoro interprets "Heart Gravel," an excerpt from her book "Love, Like Dim Sum," as a sculpture on display at the SL9B event, the grid-wide celebration of Second Life's 9th birthday. SL9B opens today June 18 at 11 AM Pacific Time and continues until June 27.
The "Heart Gravel" exhibit includes a hundred hearts where people could leave love notes and other messages, which become part of the exhibit. The story is displayed on media-on-a-prim and is also available in YouTube (http://youtu.be/360FLqkmTRY?hd=1), on the book's website (http://www.lovelikedimsum.com/heart-gravel.html), and in a notecard in-world.
In honor of Second Life's birthday, the book will be free from Amazon.com on June 28, the day after the event, to allow all guests a chance to know about the offer.

New Book on Virtual Romances Offers Dating Alternative for Singles
Mukilteo, WA, June 9, 2012 – Lea Tesoro, a veteran of the virtual reality world Second Life®, released her first book “Love, Like Dim Sum: Real World Lessons Learned and Relearned in a Virtual World” as an Amazon Kindle e-book on May 4, 2012.
In “Love, Like Dim Sum,” Tesoro (known in Second Life as Opal Lei) compares virtual world relationships with real-world relationships and discusses the aspects that make virtual relationships unique, such as the global culture, self-perception, and anonymity. She analyzes her own experiences inside Second Life and shares her insights, as well as those of her fellow virtual world “residents.” In the end, she lays out the blueprint for the “Dim Sum Lovestyle,” her proposed alternative to traditional dating.
As part of Amazon’s KDP Select program, the book could be purchased for free on June 17 to celebrate Father’s Day in the U.S. and again on June 28 as a gift for attendees of SL9B, Second Life’s 9th Birthday celebration event.

Lea Tesoro joined Second Life in August 2006 after a 14-year career in the software industry with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and an MBA focused on Entrepreneurship and International Business.
